QUETTA: After a long dry spell, a westerly wave is likely to enter Pakistan (through Balochistan) on Monday evening and expected to approach upper parts of the country on Tuesday. Scattered rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in upper parts of the country from Monday (evening) to Wednesday.
Stating this in a report Meteorological Department said light rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in North Balochistan (Quetta and Zhob divisions) on Monday (evening/ night) and Tuesday whereas rain is also predicted in Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (D.I. Khan, Bannu, Lakkimarwat, Kohat Peshawar, Malakand and Hazara divisions), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday/ Wednesday.
Spokesman of PMD further informed that Murree/Galyat, Parachinar, Malakand division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir may receive snowfall on Tuesday/Wednesday.
The approaching weather system is expected to suppress the prevailing foggy conditions in the plains of the country during Sunday to Wednesday.
The rain fed areas of wheat crop may receive scattered rain during the period.
