KARACHI: At least 38 schoolchildren participated in Water Rocket Training Workshop Competition held at SUPARCO Headquarters in Karachi on October 6th during the annual World Space Week Celebrations in Pakistan.
The workshop was organized by SUPARCO Institute of Training (SITT). It was participated large number of students and teachers from 38 schools including four schools of Special Children.
On the occasion, the teachers from all schools were briefed about the construction and applications of water rockets, then, the teachers passed on this knowledge to their students who were participating in the 6th annual National Water Rocket Competition held at SUPARCO Headquarters in Karachi.
During the competition, the students were required to build two water rockets and launch them three times. The launches were judged on the basis of accuracy. The rocket which landed nearest to the 80 meters target was declared the winner.
This year, Farza Moazzam from The Pinnacle School secured 1st position in the competition and Runner Up Spot Award was given to Masood Ahmed from The Montessori Home School while a special award of participation was given to Mobeen Shahid from Imran Rehabilitation Centre.
Overall, the event remained a huge success and was enjoyed by participants and spectators alike.
