SBP overcomes Dollar East in Naya Nazimabad cricket tourney

Karachi: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) recorded a close six-wicket win against Dollar East in 5th Naya Nazimabad Karachi Kings Ramadan Cup T20 Cricket Tournament here at Lawai Cricket Stadium on Monday night.

Former Pakistan Under-19 bowler Usman Qadir, son of spin wizard Abdul Qadir, ended with an excellent four wickets for 17 runs in four overs to resist conceding a big score from SBP, who made 151-8 in 20 overs. SBP was well placed at 97-3 and a big score looked on cards but the introduction of Usman triggered a collapse. Israrullah top scored for the side with 30 runs.

In response, Dollar East scored 145-9 in 20 overs, falling short of only seven runs. Mir Afzal (47 runs) and Jahandad Khan (43 not out) batted well for the side. Zahid Mahmood bowled well for the winners with match figures of 3-27.
