KARACHI: A delegation of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), led by Joint Director, Qadir Bux, visited Larkana and exchanged views with President Larkana Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Aslam Shaikh, wherein opening of SBP branch was discussed.
Shaikh later told newsmen that the delegation came to discuss the establishment of SBP Branch in Larkana and they were informed that it is the old demand of the people of Larkana and business community to have a branch here because of the fact that Larkana division is known for producing rice crop on massive scale world over due to which foreign exchange is also earned through export for which establishing SBP branch will resolve major issues confronting by the local exporters.
Shaikh further informed the officials that Pak-China Economic Corridor will also pass through Larkana; therefore, it will become a hub of business activity in the future where SBP branch will play its major role.
Qadir Bux informed the participants of the meeting that it had been decided to establish SBP branch in Larkana for which they had visited several areas searching for suitable plots. He said that they would prepare a proposal in this connection & submit the same to the SBP Governor, adding they will try to establish a branch as earlier as possible so that trading community could be benefited like other areas of the country.
