ISLAMABAD: The Senate was informed on Thursday that work on new Islamabad International Airport is going on rapidly and is expected to be completed in the next financial year.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad told the House during question hour that the government through PSDP has allocated Rs 450 million for purchase of land for establishment of an airport, in District Mansehra.
Shaikh Aftab Ahmad told the House that recently textile policy 2014-19 has been approved by Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet containing various short to long term initiatives.
The Policy has support schemes and development projects to double the exports of textile sector from current 13 billion dollars to 26 billion dollars.
He said the main focus is on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) development and increased value addition that is garments exports. He said to facilitate the textile sector the government has also approved textiles package in budget 2014-15.
