KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued arrest warrants against Mukhtiarkar and DDO Revenue Gulshan Town for not appearing before it.
SHC was hearing the petition filed against alleged encroachments in Bhittaiabad area of Karachi. In the last hearing, SHC directed Mukhtiarkar and DDO Revenue Gulshan Town to appear before it with original documents of the land, but they did not comply with its order.
On Tuesday’s hearing, they neither appeared before the court nor produced any original document. The court issued bailable warrants against both the officials for the sum of Rs 25,000.
Mukhtar Ali Khoso submitted that his land of 300 square feet in Karachi’s Bhittaiabad area has been encroached. The case is under hearing in the court but the officials concerned despite court’s direction did not appear before it.
During hearing, the court expressed annoyance over the absence of the officials who were asked to appear before it today; hence, the court issued bailable warrants for their arrests.
