KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notice on Monday to defence ministry, interior ministry, Sindh home secretary, IG Sindh police, DG Rangers Sindh and other respondents on a petition of Pasban e Pakistan general secretary Usman Moazzam’s wife, seeking release of his spouse and two sons.
A division bench comprised of Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro issued the notice a constitutional petition CP 4352/2015 filed by Saboohi Moazzam.
The petitioner submitted that her elder son Saad Usman Siddiqui had been missing since 11th June 2015. His father, Usman Moazzam had filed a petition CP 3656/2015 in SHC, seeking his release. However her husband and younger son Mohammad Siddiqui were whisked away by law enforcers in a raid at their residence in Karachi’s Federal-B area on mid-night of 20th July.
The petitioner submitted that the law enforcers were not disclosing their arrest and she feared about their lives and their implication in fabricated cases. She requested the court that Usman Moazzam and his sons Saad Usman and Mohammad Siddiqui should be presented before the court.
The division bench after hearing the arguments, summoned defence ministry, interior ministry, IG Sindh police, DG Rangers Sindh, Home Secretary, Additional IG of CID, SSP of SIU and SHO Samanabad on 6th August 2015.
