KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued notices to directorate of school education, department of education & literacy and the Generation School’s management, on the petition seeking lessening school fees.
SHC bench headed by chief Justice Faisal Arab took up the petition filed by over 300 parents of children studying at the Generation School who moved the court against school management for increasing fee against Sindh Private Educational Institutions Ordinance 2001.
304 petitioners including, Moiz Ishaq, Farhan Hussain and Shahid who are the guardians the students, stated that their children are studying at Nazimabad and SITE area campuses of the Generation School but suddenly the management had increased the fees which is illegal.
Citing chief secretary Sindh, directorate of School education, department of education & literacy and the Generation School management as respondents, the petitioners prayed the court to direct the authorities concerned to restrain the school management from increasing school fees.
The court was also requested by the parents to direct the management of the Generation School to follow the Sindh Private Educational Institutions Ordinance 2001 and increase the % of school fee according to it.
After the initial hearing, the court issued notices to Attorney General and respondents to file their comments on 13th October.
