Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued notices to secretary education and literacy and others on petition seeking payment of salaries to non-teaching staff.
SHC bench headed by Justice Muneeb Akhter took up the petition filed by 34 relatives of non-teaching staff working in Naushehro-Feroz district of Sindh.
The petitioners including Ghulam Qadir Peerzada submitted their relatives were working as non-teaching staff and they were recruited in different periods from 1989 to 2000. They stated that these non-teaching staffers have not been getting their salaries since June 2015.
The petitioners submitted that their families are facing hardships due to stoppage of salaries.
Citing secretary education and literacy and accountant secretary education as respondents, the petitioners requested the court to direct the respondents to issue their salaries.
After the initial hearing, the court issued notices to Attorney General and respondents to file their comments on 20th October.
