KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notices to Director General Rangers Sindh, home secretary and Inspector General Sindh, to submit their comment on a petition seeking whereabouts of a man missing since 10th October.
SHC bench headed by Justice Irfan Saadat took up the petition filed by Sameena Hanif, the wife of detainee who moved the court against law enforcers for illegally detaining her spouse, Faisal Naseer.
The petitioner stated that her husband was at their home in Shah Faisal Colony on midnight of 10th October when the Rangers forcefully entered and arrested him. “My husband is on bail in an illicit weapons possession case and was acquitted in two other cases but still he was detained illegally,” she submitted.
Citing DG Rangers Sindh, IGP Sindh, home secretary and SHO Shah Faisal police station as respondents, she prayed the court to direct the respondents to produce her spouse before the court and disclose the reason of his arrest.
After the initial hearing, the court issued notices to Attorney General and respondents to file their comments on 29th October.
