Shutter down observed on appeal of ANP

QUETTA: A shutter down was observed in Quetta an d other parts of Balochistan on the appeal of Awami National Party supported by other political parties against August 8 incident and to express solidarity with martyrs. Condolence references were also held .

All markets and shops and business concerns remained shut in the city. Due to strike there was thin traffic in Quetta city.

On the directives of Chief Minister, Government and semi government educational institutions remained closed but private institutions remained open.

Strict security measures were made to deal with any untoward situation.

Activists form a party forced shopkeepers to shut down their shops at Almo Chowk, Bhoosa Mandi and Sariab road. But they were not allowed to force shopkeepers to shut down their shutters.

ANP Spokesperson alleged that security forces tortured our workers at Almo Chowk and Bhoosa Mandi to foil our strike.
