KARACHI: The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) on Saturday organized volunteer’s talent day program with aim to promote talent of students.
Director, Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) Dr Adib Rizvi highlighted the genesis of SIUT & need of volunteers. He said that the prime objective of celebration was to promote and harness the talents of student volunteers who perform volunteer activities at the hospital as a part of community service.
He stressed that the volunteers should not hesitate on their honest efforts to achieve the goals in their life.
An inspirational talk given by Dr Nauman Naqvi, founder dean of Humanities and liberal arts at Habib University was another feature of the volunteer day. Topic of his talk was challenges for the next generation.
Dr Naqvi said that in Islam different philosophers preached love and generosity in their teachings that was the concept of Sufism. He presented another logical aspect of mankind and humanity. He pointed out the threats which are posed to mankind and planet.
The other events that took place include debating contest, paintings exhibition, musical talent show and quiz contest. Topics allocated for debate, quiz and painting competition were all focused on healthy life style, prevention from diseases, organ donation, avoidance of self- medication, cleanliness and importance of hygiene in our lives.
Prominent personalities from the world of art, show business and media attended the activities and performed the duties of judges.
The volunteers along with their family members, patients, educational institution’s faculty members, thoroughly enjoyed the day long activities and lauded the efforts of SIUT in providing healthy and fun filled activities.
