Six, including three women, electrocuted in Karachi

KARACHI: Six persons, including three women, were electrocuted in different incidents in the metropolis in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to rescue sources, an 18-year-old woman Bisma, and a 16-year-old Iqra received severe electric shocks in their house in Old Golimar. As a result, they died on the spot. The bodies were shifted Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsies.

Separately, an 18-year-old woman Maryam, daughter of Umar, received severe electric shocks from switch board of her house. As a result, she died on the spot. The body was shifted to ASH for a postmortem examination. Meanwhile, two persons, Manzoor, aged 35, and Haris, 40, were killed when electric wires fell on them in Garden area. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsies.

Rescue sources said a young man, Rustam, aged 22, suffered severe burn injuries when he received electric shocks in New Karachi area. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
