South Zone police detained 31 accused


KARACHI: South Zone police claimed to have arrested 31 accused from different parts of the metropolis on Tuesday.

On the directives of DIG South Zone Dr Jameel Ahmad, SHO Boat Basin, SHO Gizri and SHO Civil Lines conducted separate raids against three criminal groups and detained four accused, Sajid alias Sajjad alias Mujahid, Mohammad Farhan alias Lahoris, Mohammad Saleem alias Babad and another Irfan in injured condition while their three aides managed to escape from there. Three pistols, three magazines, one dagger and other things were recovered from their possession.

Gizri and Boat Basin police arrested a man, Zaman, on charges of displaying arm in public place and recovered one Kalashnikov and 60 cartages, while a suspect, Ghulam Qadir, were detained on the charges of murder and a repeater seized from him.

Other hand Saddar and Darakhshan police captured two members of a street criminal gang named, Rana Sabir alias Rana and Mumtaz. Two pistols were also recovered from them.

In another raid, two foreigners were arrested by Kalakot and Risala police. Jackson police arrested a gambler and sources of gambling were recovered from him.

Meanwhile, South Zones other police stations arrested 19 another criminals, including five absconders in separate raids.
