South Zone police held 29

KARACHI: South Zone Police claimed to have arrested 29 criminals and recovered weapons during raids in different parts of the metropolis on Tuesday.

On the directives of DIG south Dr Jameel Ahmad 15 police stations of south zone conducted raids against criminals, extortionists and absconders and arrested 29 suspects.

According to details, Clifton, Darakhshan, Mochko, Nabi Baksh, Preedy and KPT police arrested 10 criminals, Amjad Ali, Haroon, Walid alias Wali, Arshad Ali, Waseem, Akhter Mohammad, Wajid, Mumtaz Ali and Imtiaz Ahmad during raids and encounters in their jurisdictions. Seven pistols, seven magazines, 55 cartages and looted property were seized from their possession. They said arrested criminals were also wanted to police in different cases.

Docks police arrested a suspect, Nasir, on the charges of threatening businessmen and collecting extortion from them.

Boat Basin police arrested a man, Bhai Khan for breaching the ban on displaying arms in public place. One rifle and 13 cartages were recovered from him.

Meanwhile, four gamblers were arrested by Garden and Meethadar police. Stake money and sources of gambling were seized from them.

Furthermore, Kalri and Preedy police arrested three drug sellers and recovered hashish from them. Meanwhile, 13 absconders were also arrested by Clifton, Docks, Jackson, Meethadar, Mehmoodabad and Baloch Colony Police.
