LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haque, has impressed upon the government to announce special package of Rs 100 billion each for Karachi and tribal areas for the rehabilitation of the people affected by the terrorism there.
Talking to the media men after a meeting of the JI central executive at Mansoora on Sunday, he also urged the Prime Minister to expose the forces who wanted to sabotage the peace talks with the Taliban, and also strive to foil heir evil designs. JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch besides the four deputy chiefs of the JI were also present on the occasion.
The JI chief further said that the Prime Minister’s evading reference to the Kashmir and river water issues during his New Delhi visit and avoiding meeting with the Hurriyat Conference leadership there during his visit there had sent a negative signal to the Kashmiris struggling for freedom, while on the other hand, the entire Pakistani nation stood with their Kashmiri brethren.
Sirajul Haq counselled the government party to go through its election manifesto once again and implement it in right earnest instead of complaining against the public wrath.
The JI chief decried London politics and said that all those desiring country’s good should come back and try to improve the things here. He said that the clash of institutions would harm the democratic order.
Sirajul Haq said that the tribal people were as patriotic as those in Islamabad and had equal rights over the country’s resources. Instead of pushing the tribal people to the wall, the government should show affection for them and launch education and health schemes and create jobs for them.
The JI chief noted that the political parties had given the government mandate for peace talks but the government had begun operation without taking the parties into confidence, and had thus paved the way for the world powers’ great game. As a result, the tribal people had become sand witch between the government and the Taliban.
He counselled Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to personally visit the north and South Waziristan, and was sure that the people there would fully cooperate with the government. Sirajul Haq decried London plans and said that the leaders desiring betterment in the country should come back and try to set the things right from here.
He said that clash of institutions would harm the democratic order and instead of destabilizing the government, the opposition should give the rulers enough time to deliver and all other parties should cooperate for finding out solutions of the people’s problems. He said that a tug of war had been going on in the country for the last 5 years and the country had faced disintegrated during the process.
To a question, he said that PTI chief Imran Khan had the right to protest against rigging in election as the Election Commission had failed to conduct impartial, free and fair elections, and this had created problems for all concerned.
Meanwhile, while addressing the annual meeting of the Jamiat e Talaba a Arabia, the JI chief said that the elements talking of secularism were in fact going against the will of the Father of the Nation, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali who had talked of the Islamic system for this country and of the Holy Quran as its constitution.
