LARKANA: Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) Larkana continued its protest for 87th consecutive day here on Tuesday for removal of Degree College Larkana’s Principal Ghulam Sarwar Qureshi.
The protesters took out a rally from their college, marched through various roads and held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh roundabout, urging Sindh government to accept their demands. They levelled massive corruption charges against the principal.
In their general body meeting, Prof Shahabuddin Mangan, Prof Ram Chand, Prof Akhlaque Ansari, Khalil-ur-Rahman Bhutto and others participated. While addressing the protesters, they said that their protest had spread to all over the province. They said that they would take out a rally today which will terminate at CM House on March 30 where a sit-in will be staged. They demanded four-tier formula on the pattern of Punjab and KPK provinces, inclusion of all posts in annual budget book, regular promotions on seniority basis, appointments through Sindh Public Service Commission, revision of all colleges’ SNEs, increase of allowance and so forth. They also demanded removal of Ghulam Sarwar Qureshi and Abdul Qayoom Mangi, Principal, Islamia Arts College, Sukkur and further demanded their audit must be conducted against them.
