Sports: (ATF sending qualified Tennis Coach to Pakistan)


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tennis Federation on Wednesday announced that the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) is sending a qualified Tennis Coach, Khansaman Pracharapol, to impart high quality training and modern hitting techniques to Pakistan’s Junior players, and latest Coaching methods to our Coaches.

The ATF Coach will arrive August 15, and the coaching sessions will start on August 16, at Pakistan Ordnance Factories, Wah. According to a PTF press release, Lt. Gen. Omar Mahmood Hayat, Chairman, Pakistan Ordnance Factories, has consented to sponsor the 14-day long Coaching Camp at the POF Tennis Center.

President, PTF, Mr. Salim Saifullah Khan, has thanked the Chairman/POF Wah, for sponsoring this event. As an affiliated Unit of the PTF, POF, in the past, has played quite an active role for the promotion of the game of tennis, and now after a long time they have stepped up again to do what’s needed in the players’ development.

The President also thanked Col. Inamullah Khan of POF Wah, and the Senior Vice President of PTF, for getting this sponsorship from POF.

PTF has invited 20 boys (13 to 17 age group) to attend this Camp. Col. Inamullah Khan will act as the Camp Commandant. All out-station players will be provided free lodging and boarding at the POF.

Since the beginning of this year, the PTF, under its Long-Term Players’ Development Program, has initiated constant coaching activities, including but not limited to, coaching camps for Junior Fed Cup, Junior Davis Cup, World Junior Tennis 14-under camp, regular JTI programs at Islamabad and Lahore, a high performance camp for top six juniors of KPK, and Punjab, at Syed Dilawar Abbas PTF Complex.

High qualified and experienced coaches conducted these Camps. The long term goal is to groom talented juniors for Junior Davis Cup, Junior Fed Cup, and prepare at least 10 players for the Davis Cup Trials for 2017 Ties.

President, PTF, has also approved two 1-month long Coaching Camps at Karachi and Lahore. The Karachi Camp will be conducted by Sindh Tennis Association (Nomi Qamar Coach), and the Lahore Camp will be conducted by PLTA (Rashid Malik will be the Coach).
