Karachi: Arslan Qadir scored a brilliant hat-trick as NBP recorded a convincing 9-0 victory against Islamabad in 61st PSO National Hockey Championship on Thursday at Sialkot Hockey Stadium in Sialkot.
Apart from Arslan, Mohammad Dilber and Mohammad Tousiq both braced while Mohammad Atiq and Mohammad Sibtain scored one goal each for the victors in the match.
In another match, Railway defeated Sindh 5-1. Mohammad Shaharyar, Junaid Manzoor, Adeel Latif, Qasim Ahmed and Waseem Akram scored one goal each for Railway. Shujaat Ali scored a consolatory goal in the match for Sindh.
In the last match of the day, WAPDA thrashed KPK 7-0. Mohammad Imran scored a hat-trick Asad Bashir scored twice while Mohammad Khalid and Tasawar Abbas scord one each.
Meanwhile, Anjum Saeed, Tournament Director imposed one-match ban on Rana Sajid, Tournament Officer for late reporting on the match.
The Tournament Director also banned Umpire Hafiz Atif Malik for three matches for his wrong decisions during a match between HEC and Port Qasim Authority. On protest raised by the team officials, Saeed Ahmed, Umpires Manager, Ansar Mahmood Jora, Tournament Officer along with third Umpire Kamran Sharif watched the video and found Atif guilty of wrong decision.
