Sports: Hockey: Olympians XI won the exhibition match by 4-2
Karachi: To mark the celebrations of 200th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Sports Department of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology organized an Exhibition Hockey Match that was played between Olympians XI and SSUET XI at Olympian Islahuddin and Dr. Mohammad Ali Shah Hockey Stadium.
Olympian XI won the match by 4-2. Islahuddin, Kamran Ashraf, Sameer Husain and Ayaz Mahmood of Olympian XI scored one goal each while Moin Khan and Adil Askari of SSUET XI scored one goal each.
Chief Guest Jawaid Anwar, Chancellor of Sir Syed University, gave honorary shields to the dignified guests and then Trophies were given to the winner and runner up teams.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief guest Jawaid Anwar said, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan always urged students to take part in sports activities along with their academic exercises. “Sports open up your mind and produce positive thinking in you. It keeps your body fit and healthy,” he added.
