KARACHI: Three persons were killed and five others injured in separate violence incidents in the city on Sunday.
Two men, Abdul Hafiz, 40, son of Malang Jan, and Khuda Dad, 35, son of Din Mohammad, were killed in Jahanabad, Lyari. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. Rescue sources informed that those killed were policemen.
In another incident, an unidentified robber was killed in police encounter in Mithadar.
SSP City Shiraz Nazir informed that three robbers entered the Arshad Sons rise merchant shop for robbery. Police mobile was informed by a passerby after which police rushed to the scene and encountered with the criminals.
In exchange of fire, one criminal was killed. However, his two accomplices managed to fled the scene. Police also recovered a pistol from the dead criminal. The dead criminal was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
Yet another incident, a youth, Bilawal, 20, son of Ghulam Abbas, was shot and injured by unknown armed men near Usmanabad in Lyari. He was shifted to CHK for treatment.
Separately, a man, Mohammad Rafiq, son of Naseerullah, was shot and injured by unknown armed men in Shershah Akbar road. The injured was rushed to CHK for treatment.
Meanwhile, a man Mohammad Riaz, 36, son of Habibullah, was injured during resistance over snatching at Gabol town near Country Tower.
SHO Gabol town Inspector Mohammad Sajid informed that he withdrew cash from Soneri Bank, Hyderi meanwhile for 4 unidentified accused chased him. Complainant tried to escape, criminals fired 2 bullets on his car resultantly he suffered minor bullet injury in elbow. The injured was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
Furthermore, a man, Iftikhar, 22, son of Abdul Rehman, was injured by unknown armed men near Islamia Hall in Sodiar Market. The injured was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment.
Moreover, a youth, Fahad Shaikh, 25, son of Shaikh Ahmed, was injured by unknown armed men at University Road. The injured was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.
