Three men get life term in murder case

Karachi: The Additional District and Sessions Judge Central, Aliya Latif Unar, awarded life imprisonment to three accused with fine of Rs 100,000 each in a murder case. The judge found Farhan, Shahzad and Ashraf guilty of killing their friend Farhan Jiskani, a travel agent, on 2 February 2009.

The judge pronounced the verdict after recording statements of witnesses, evidences and hearing arguments from both sides. The convict will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of six months if they fails to pay the fine money.

All the accused were on bail. The court had canceled the bail of accused and sent them to jail. It also awarded three-year imprisonment to all accused in robbery case. They had been accused of looting their friend before killing him. All the imprisonment would undergo simultaneously.

The case FIE 33/2009 was registered at Azizabad police station under section 302 (premeditated murder), 392 (punishment for robbery) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
