ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is working hard to address its humanitarian challenges, including resettlement of a very large number of displaced people in FATA and has achieved solid progress in meeting their needs.
This was stated by John Ging, Head of Operations at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in a press conference at UN Headquarters, says a statement received here on Wednesday.
He said in a world where so many crises are on a negative trajectory, Pakistan offers an all rare example of positive progress. He called for renewed international commitment to support Pakistan’s stepped up efforts to overcome its humanitarian tasks.
Ging noted that Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority has developed into a world class institution over the last decade, incorporating international best practices.
