KARACHI: Chief Secretary (CS) Sindh Mohammad Siddiq Memon on Wednesday met the visiting World Bank Mission linked to the Second Sindh Education Project (SERP-II)â€ and, Sindh Global Partnership for Education (S-GPE)â€ for discussing the issues of Sindh schools infrastructure education management reforms, procurement responsibilities, Reform Support Unit (RSU), annual school census and teaching standard.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary Education Sindh Dr. Fazalullah Pechuho and the Senior Officers of Sindh, including Special Secretary Finance Hassan Naqvi.
Chief Secretary advised the Secretary Education to furnish a comprehensive report on the status of affairs of SERP-II and S-GPE within a week, as well; he also desired progress in the free distribution of text books to the students of primary and secondary schools.
The mission thanked the Sindh government for the coordinated efforts of the Sindh Finance Department for timely release of funds to the education department.
The World Bank delegates Ms. Umbreen Arif, Ms. Uzma Sadaf, Mr. Shafiq Paracha and Ms. Salma Alam also spoke.
