ISLAMABAD: Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that his party wanted next general election in 2018 as per schedule.
In an interview to a private news channel on Thursday, he said PPP had time and again assured the Pakistan Muslim League-N that it would continue to support the government for strengthening democracy in the country.
He said PPP would play its role in the Parliamentary Reforms Committee to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in future. He said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan had declared the 2015 as election year to get public attention and keep his supporters attached with the party. He asked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to avoid political of victimization.
