Karachi: Thirteen more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Saturday, increasing the patients toll to 4817 in 2013, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
Mullick said that a total of 5,500 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 4817 were detected in Karachi and 683 in rest of Sindh province. He said 33 dengue cases were reported late from hospitals.
He said 15 new dengue viral fever cases were reported across the province (5 inpatient & 10 OPD cases) out of which 13 in Karachi, while one each case was detected in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.
He said a total of 32 dengue fever patients died across the province this year so far, out of which 26 in Karachi, three in Hyderabad and one each in Mirpurkhas, Thatta and Larkana.
He further informed that 600 cases were detected in Hyderabad, 37 in Mirpurkhas, 11 in Jamshoro, seven in Thatta, five in Sukkur, four in Shikarpur, three in Larkana, two each in Kambar, Sanghar, Dadu and Kashmore; and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Nawabshah, Tharparkar, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Umerkot since January 2013.
