Karachi: Seventeen more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Tuesday, increasing the patients toll to 4681 in 2013 in Sindh province, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
Mullick said that a total of 5351 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of which 4681 were detected in Karachi. He said 12 dengue cases were reported late from hospitals.
He said 20 more dengue viral fever cases were reported across the province (8 inpatient & 12 OPD cases) out of which 17 in Karachi, two in Hyderabad and one in Jamshoro.
He said total 32 dengue fever patients died across the province this year so far, out of which 26 in Karachi, three in Hyderabad and one each in Mirpurkhas Thatta, Larkana.
He further informed that 593 cases were detected in Hyderabad, 32 in Mirpurkhas, 11 in Jamshoro, seven in Thatta, four each in Sukkur and Shikarpur; three in Larkana, two each in Kambar and Sanghar; and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Nawabshah, Tharparkar, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Umerkot since January 2013.
