Karachi: Nineteen more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Thursday, increasing the number of confirmed cases to 5014 in 2013, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
Dr Mullick said that a total of 5706 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013; 5014 detected in Karachi and 692 in rest of Sindh province.
He said 19 new dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi (3 inpatient & 19 OPD cases) on Karachi. He said eight dengue cases were reported late from hospitals.
He said total 32 dengue fever patients have died across the province this year so far, 26 in Karachi, three in Hyderabad and one each in Mirpurkhas Thatta and Larkana.
He further informed that 608 cases have been detected in Hyderabad, 38 in Mirpurkhas, 11 in Jamshoro, seven in Thatta, five in Sukkur, four in Shikarpur, three in Larkana, two each in Kambar, Sanghar, Dadu and Kashmore and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Nawabshah, Tharparkar, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan; and Umerkot since January 2013.
