Karachi: Ten new dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Thursday, besides 13 cases of past days reported late increasing the number of confirmed patients in 2013 in the province to 5429, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.
He said out of these detected cases, as many as 4754 cases were reported in Karachi and 675 in rest of Sindh province.
He said besides the 10 new cases, 13 more dengue cases were reported late from hospitals on Thursday.
He said the newly detected 12 cases included 3 inpatient & 9 OPD cases. Then of them were reported in Karachi, while in Hyderabad.
He said total 32 dengue fever patients died across the province in this year so far: 26 in Karachi, three in Hyderabad and one each in Mirpurkhas Thatta and Larkana.
He further informed that 598 cases have been detected in Hyderabad, 32 in Mirpurkhas, 11 in Jamshoro, seven in Thatta, four each in Sukkur and Shikarpur; Three in Larkana, two each in Kambar, Sanghar, Dadu and Kashmore and one each in Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Badin, Nawabshah, Tharparkar, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Umerkot since January 2013.
