Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 62% Pakistanis believe Pakistan is better now than it was in 1947.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Some people are of the opinion that Pakistan has not made much progress in the last 50 years. Others disagree to this. In your opinion, was the situation in Pakistan better in 1947 or is it better now?” Responding to this, 37% said Pakistan was better in 1947, 62% said it is better now and 1% did not respond.
The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2621 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during August 19, 2013 – August 26, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
