Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 63% Pakistanis believe that woman can lead a country.
A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Some people are of the opinion that a woman cannot lead a country, whereas some others think that if a woman is talented and popular then there is no harm in her leading. What is your opinion?” Responding to this, 63% said a woman can be a leader compared to 31% who said that a woman could not. 6% did not respond.
The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2577 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 28, 2013 – Nov 04, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
