Peshawar: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Shehzad Arbab has said that eradication of polio is necessary to save our future generation from this menace which must be made possible at all cost. He directed the concerned authorities of health and police departments, Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to take steps in this regard on war footing basis.
He expressed these views while chairing a high level meeting in Peshawar to deliberate over ways and means to eradicate polio once for all on Tuesday. He directed all relevant departments
including Police, Home and Health to concentrate their energies over eradicating the menace of polio to save the future generation. All Divisional Commissioners presented a detailed report to Chief Secretary in this regard in which they highlighted their problems and proposals in regard making the campaign a success. Chief Secretary strictly directed to pay salary to all field workers in time.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need of establishing universal tele- centers at district level under the patronage of Information Technology Department and directed to ensure availability of 4 to 10 canal state land for the said centres within 15 days so that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at district level could be provided birth certificates, death certificates, marriage and Nikah registration, verification of SIM and other related information through internet and computerization.
