Peshawar: The Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the era of peace, prosperity and progress can be restored and the nefarious designs of the enemies can be foiled in our province and country at large by strictly following the motto of Quiad-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah viz faith, unity and discipline.
In his message to the nation on the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, the Chief Minister assured the people of the province to believe in us and have full confidence in their elected government as he said that their government was taking all measures to ensure peace, safety and prosperity of the people.
Pervez Khattak said that the best way to pay homage to Quaid-e-Azam was to maintain unity and solidarity among our ranks by leaving aside all our political and personal interests. He said we have to utilize all our capabilities to bring the nation at par with other esteemed and developed nations of the world.
He said that due to the ill-conceived policies in the past and the American drone strikes, our country was faced with difficult and challenging scenario. He said that because of the increasing incidents of terrorism and suicidal attacks the peace of the country had been shattered.
He added that though the provincial government was making all possible efforts for the restoration of durable peace in the region but it was not possible until and unless the unfair interference of America in our affairs and the drone strikes were not halted for good.
He expressed the hope that the federal government in the light of the resolution unanimously passed in the APC and as per the aspiration of the nation, take bold steps to ask for halting the US drone strikes.
He said that PTI would not let the NATO supply through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa because it was purely a matter of national sovereignty which is far important than (conditional) foreign aid.
Pervez Khattak called upon all the political forces and the public to join hands with PTI and the provincial government in its efforts to halt the drone strikes and hence force the federal government to take effective steps to that effect. “How it is happening in an independent country of Quaid-e-Azam where people are killed in drone strikes and our sovereignty and territorial integrity is being violated”, he maintained.
The Chief Minister assured that his government would make all out efforts to restore peace in the province apart from eliminating the government machinery from corruption and bring about pleasant changes in economic, social, political, cultural and educational sectors.
He appealed the people to shoulder the government efforts in this regard and demonstrate complete unity in their ranks so that Pakistan could be turned into a welfare, democratic, peaceful and developed country in the real sense as per vision of the Quiad-e-Azam.
