SIALKOT: As many as 150 families of Afghan nationals have been repatriated to Afghanistan from Sialkot region.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Dilawar Abbas disclosed this while talking to the newsmen here Friday. Sialkot DPO Dr. Shehzad Asif was also present on this occasion.
RPO said that the above mentioned Afghan families had been living illegally in Sialkot-Pakistan since long and they could not produce any valid legal document during their special checking. Due to which, the 150 Afghan families illegally residing in Sialkot region have been repatriated to Afghanistan.
RPO added that the police also arrested six notorious fugitive proclaimed offenders (POs) belonging to Sialkot district from different countries with the help of the Interpol during 2014, saying that police was also making contacts with Interpol for ensuring the early arrest of eleven other notorious POs from abroad.
Meanwhile, Sialkot DPO Dr. Shehzad Asif told that a special cell has also been established at the office of DPO for issuance of the police character certificates to the people, vowing to end corruption of police and the agents.
