2 killed in firing on Akbar Bugti Express


MACH/SIBI: Two persons including a Police constable were killed and 10 others sustained injuries in firing on Akbar Bugti Express between Sibi and Mach Monday. Train service between Quetta and Sibi was suspended following firing incident.

According to details Akbar Bugti Express training was going to Quetta from Lahore today. When it reached Osay Pur station, terrorists opened fire with modern weapons. As a result Muhammad Nadeem and Railway Police Constable Muhammad Ali died. Ten others including Mst Zubeda, Abdul Quddus, Muhammad Ahsan, a minor boy and others sustained injuries.

Security forces deployed at the train opened fire on terrorists who succeeded to disappear in the nearby mountains. Security forces condoned the area. No arrest was reported till last reports came in.

Train was sent to Mach under strict security. Dead and wounded were also sent to Mach by the same train. Injured were provided medical aid at Mach hospital and shifted to Quetta for further treatment after security clearance.

It may be added that this is first incident of firing on train this year. During the previous year an attack was made on Jaffar Express train. Security forces personnel were posted at the trains for security of trains and passengers but firing incident could not be stopped.
