LARKANA: Out of 87 sanctioned posts of BS-19 as many as 43 are vacant and 44 doctors are posted to work at the Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, which is claimed to be the largest Teaching Hospital of upper Sindh, sources revealed to PPI on Monday.
These posts include one post of Additional Medical Superintendent as five are sanctioned and four are filled. Both sanctioned posts of Deputy Medical Superintendents of BS-19 are vacant. and one post of Chief RMO out of two sanctioned is vacant. Likewise one sanctioned post of anaesthetist of BS-19 is also vacant along with one post of senior pathologist. There are 47 sanctioned posts of BS-19 Chief Medical Officers out of which 21 are filled and 26 are vacant. Out of six Women Medical Officers of BS-19 three are filled and three are vacant and out of 23 sanctioned posts of Senior Registrars 15 are filled and eight are vacant which has seriously affected the performance of the hospital.
It must be mentioned here that time & again the Hospital administration has been writing constantly to Health Department, Karachi, to get these and other vacancies filled through Sindh Public Service Commission on merit or promotions but it has always ignored their letters due to which many posts are occupied by junior doctors. Will the Health Minister also undertake to fill all the vacant posts of doctors, paramedics and staff nurses in the province within a given time as he did against corruption yesterday in Jinnah Hospital auditorium.
