LARKANA: A two separate protest demonstrations were held in front of Larkana Press Club here Monday by the members of Larkana Association of Deaf (LAD) and one affectee, Talib Hussain Jakhro, for acceptance of their demands.
LAD members Amjad Khokhar, Fayaz Khuhro, Niaz Kalhoro, Khalil Abbasi and others said that they were continuously protesting for acceptance of their demands since over past two weeks for provision of government jobs, implementation of disabled quota and financial support through Benazir Income Support Program.
They said that their hunger strike and peaceful protest will continue till their demands are accepted by the rulers. They also demanded of Larkana district administration to hold games for special youth.
Talib Jakhro said that he donated his plot in Meeral Jakhro locality of Ratodero for construction of government school on the condition of provision of two jobs – a security guard and a peon – for which an agreement was also made between him and education department officials but he is being denied the same.
He also filed a petition in Sindh High Court Circuit Court, Larkana, for seeking justice. He said that SHC directed the the then Education Director of Larkana that he be given two jobs within 15 days as per agreement but, he alleged, former education department Director Rasul Bux Shah and clerk Gulshan Bugti gave him appointment order of sanitary worker which he refused to accept. He demanded justice and stern action against both the officials.
