JAMSHORO: The 46th death anniversary of Allama Imdad Ali Imam Ali Kazi (II Kazi), founder vice chancellor University of Sindh, was observed on Sunday at the varsity premises.
Accompanied by officers, faculty members, employees and students, registrar SU Ghulam Muhammad Bhutto led the wreath-laying ceremony.
He lauded the services of the late scholar rendered for establishment of the University of Sindh at Jamshoro with immense planning and striving to provide the youth with higher education.
He said that Allama II Kazi, apart from Vice Chancellor, was a great scholar, philosopher and expert on education, teachings of Islam and explaining poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
Registrar further said that during his life, Allama II Kazi used to deliver weekly lectures on different topics for the learning and education of youth studying on the campus.
He said that the University had been commemorating and observing death anniversaries of Allama Kazi for 46 years on regular basis and every year, he said new group of audience came to learn about him and the efforts he made for education.
“We must remember the people who dedicate their lives for the betterment of society through education and innovation”, Registrar Bhutto said.
He said that Sindh University was on the way to progress under the dynamic leadership of Prof Dr Nazir A Mughal. Bhutto added that the law and order situation was better on the campus and it would never be compromised.
He said the peaceful academic activities were in full swing on the campus and the semester exams would be held on scheduled time, adding that the summer classes would be ensured this year under the guideline of vice chancellor Dr Mughal.
