Another example of bad governance: Provincial Selection Board meeting postponed thrice

LARKANA: The meeting of Provincial Selection Board under the chairmanship of CM Sindh has once again been postponed after taking decision of few of the selected officers of BS-19. The Board meeting was to be held for promoting BS-19 officers to BS-20. The meeting was to be presided over by the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

According to reliable sources, this meeting has been postponed for the third time in a period of Less than one month which showed bad governance and establishment of merit in Sindh government.

Most of the senior officers mainly belonging to Health Department are already due for promotion in BS-20 since last 10 years but even then they have been deprived of their basic right as many of them are working in the same grade since last 18 years.

Affected officers who do not want to be identified for fear of jeopardizing their entire career that the Sindh government bosses do not want them to be promoted to next grade and retire in the existing grade which trend must end now in this alleged democratic rule.

Most of the Health Department officers will retire from government service within this year thus they will not be benefitted for their long service period which indeed is unjust and must be addressed forthwith.

These sources said that about 100 cases of Health Department were to be decided but nobody was considered and only PCS officer’s cases were dealt with to please this group of officers. The affected Health Department senior doctors have demanded of the Sindh government to be active now and promote them as per their right for fulfillment of existing rules so that they can be able to get full financial benefits as admissible to other officers of Sindh government to maintain parity.
