ABBOTTABAD: District administration once again launched the anti encroachment drive which was suspended few months back and in 2nd phase, seven shops and cabions were removed at Fawara Chowk by using heavy machinery.

Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Mir Raza Ozgan who is supervising the campaign was assisted by Chief Officer of Municipal Committee and DSP Cantt.

Heavy contingent of police was deployed during the operating. However due to non co-operation of traffic police, traffic remain stuck up for more then two hours as operation was conducted on the main Karakorum High way and traffic could not be managed by the traffic police .

In the anti encroachment drive, AC told that operation will be conducted across the board and encroachments will be removed from the both sides of the road.

It should be noted that shops and cabions were constructed on the nullah which is now being vacated while for the removal of wall of courts, request is forwarded to Peshawar High Court Abbottabad circuit bench authorities and also to the district session judge as per revenue record, some portion of roads is being covered up by the courts and will be cleared in the best interest of the general public says AC Abbottabad.
