Khairpur, Sindh: A meeting to review the opening of Kandhkot and Ghotki campuses of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur was chaired by Prof Dr. Parveen Shah, Vice Chancellor.
Speaking on the occasion, she said we are committed to provide quality higher education to remote areas of Upper Sindh because these areas need education to eradicate tribal and feudal clashes.
She thanked Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh and Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Provincial Minister for Communication & Works for the establishment of Kandhkot campus and also for the allocation of Rs. 500million as seed money. She also thanked Ali Nawaz Khan Mahar, Provincial Minster for Agriculture for the establishment of the Ghotki campus.
Prof Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Director Planning and Development told the meeting that latest facilities and infrastructure would be provided in the both campuses.
It was decided that the new classes will start in the month of January 2015 in both campuses.
The Vice Chancellor directed the Project Director (Works) to expedite the repair and renovation/ civil work at the campuses earliest.
The meeting was attended by Prof Dr. Miandad Zardari, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Main Campus, Prof Dr. Lutfullah Mangi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Shikarpur Campus, Prof Dr. Yasmeen Faiz Kazi, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Prof Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Maitlo, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration, Prof Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Khushk, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Arts, Prof Dr. Mumtaz Hussain Mahar, Prof Dr. Taj Mohammad Lashari and others.
