Crime graph recedes in Larkana


LARKANA: Crime in Larkana district has considerably reduced in the first six months of 2015 as compared to previous six months.

During July-December 2014 as many as 1296 criminal cases were reported and during January-June 2015, 956 cases were registered in entire Larkana district. Hence, a decrease of 340 cases was noticed.

According to data, 73 murder cases were reported in last six months of 2014 and 40 murders were made during first six months of 2015, Likewise 3 & 2 cases of Karo-Kari, culpable homicide cases 2 & 3, attempt to murder 87 & 68, grievous hurts 18 & 21, simple hurts 13 & 8, rioting 25 & 39, assault on government servants (police) 123 & 70, assault on others 8 & 5 respectively. Zina/Zina Bil Jaber 6 & 7, kidnapping 52 & 60, kidnapping for ransom 5 & 2, child-lifting 2 during 2014 & no case was reported in 2015, attempt to suicide 1 during the same period but nil was reported during 2015.

Other crimes 34 & 26, petrol pumps robberies 36 & 23, burglaries 26 & 30, car theft 6 & 1, car snatching 2 & 2, motorcycle snatching 39 & 11, motor cycle theft 34 & 12, O.M. vehicle theft 5 & 5 & snatch 5 & 3, cattle theft 28 & 14, other thefts 44 & 25, receiving stolen property 4 & 2, theft u/s 382 PPC 15 & 7, miscellaneous cases 365 & 285 respectively.

Ten fatal traffic accidents occurred in last six months of 2014 and 12 in first six months of 2015. However, non-fatal accidents remained 7 & 1 respectively. Cases under prohibition ordinance were 50 & 60, arms ordinance 147 & 95 and gambling ordinance 21 & 14 respectively.

Crimes of Karo-Kari, kidnapping/abduction, burglaries and prohibition ordinance recorded an increase but in other fields they sharply declined which also need to be controlled & curbed with effective team work.
