NAUNDERO: The residents of village Jat-Bhutta within the limits of Naundero police station held a protest demonstration and blocked Larkana-Sukkur Road here on Sunday against Naundero police raid.
The protest caused traffic jam on Sukkur-Larkana route. As many as three aged women fainted during the raid who were shifted to a local hospital here. Former Nazim Ashfaque Bhutto lodged a complaint against Nisar Jat that he was not paying him Rs 500000 and Naundero police led by ASI Shams Khokhar conducted a raid to arrest Nisar Jat.
The villagers told the police that they had disowned Nisar five years ago and he does not live here anymore, but cops did not hear them and entered their houses and started beating womenfolk due to which a quarrel took place between the police party and the villagers. When the cops found that the situation was going out of their control they took to their heels and ran away but ASI Khokhar was caught and made captive by the villagers.
The villagers went out of the village along with their women and children, held a protest demonstration, burnt bushes and branches of trees, blocked the main road. They also chanted slogans against police highhandedness. Residents Sadoro, Saeed, Naveed Jat and others said that they had already disowned Nisar Jat and such papers had already been given to Naundero police five years ago that he had no contact with them at all since very long, but police continued to raid our houses and malign women and children in this scorching heat.
They said that three women Hoor Khatoon, Ameeran and Waziran Khatton fell unconscious during the police torture. On hearing this news, SHO Majid Chutto and DSP Yasin Tagar arrived on the spot and held talks with the agitating villagers due to which they opened the road on the assurance that action will be taken against the cops.
