SIALKOT: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 89 notorious human traffickers , including proclaimed offenders (POs) named in FIA�s Red Book, during a crackdown against them in Gujranwala Division�s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat , Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts in the month of June 2015.
According to Deputy Director FIA Gujranwala Sikandar Hayyat Malik, the FIA has also recovered Rs. 24 million from these human traffickers, which they extorted from the innocent people by showing them the golden dreams of their lucid future in abroad or sending the people abroad especially Europe, Turkey, Iran, Muscat, Greece, Spain and other Gulf States illegally.
He said FIA arrested 44 old human traffickers-cum-notorious proclaimed offenders (POs), besides, arresting the main accused Zafar Iqbal alias Bholla from Mandi Bahaud Din, who was also named in FIA�s Red Book as well.
He said FIA registered 43 new cases of human trafficking in June 2015 and arrested all the accused nominated in these cases. He said FIA had fined Rs.1.8 million to four accused for stealing gas and six big accused involve in electricity theft in Sialkot.
