SIALKOT: The 138th annual birth day of Allama Iqbal (the son of soil of Sialkot) would be celebrated with traditional zeal, fervor and enthusiasm at Iqbal Manzil Sialkot (the birthplace of Allama Iqbal, the poet of the East) here today (Monday).
The day will dawn with special prayers in the mosques for the peace, national integrity, prosperity and development. Chairman SCCI’s Committee on Farogh-e-Iqbaliyat Shehzada Ibne Iqbal Syed told newsmen that the main birthday cake cutting ceremony would be held at the Iqbal Manzil today (Monday) under the auspices of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), where SCCI President Maj (r) Mansur Ahmed will cut the cake to pay homage to the great poet, philosopher Allama Iqbal.
A large number of the people including the students of different schools and colleges and their teachers will also visit the Iqbal Manzil, where the Kalaam-e-Iqbal and speech contests would also be held. The people will also visit the graves of the Allama Iqbal’s parents and other family members at Imam Sahib Graveyard Sialkot to lay floral wreaths there besides offering Fateha there.
Sialkot District Administration would also organize a day-long seminar on Allama Iqbal and his Khudi philosophy at the Seerat Study Center Sialkot Cantt. Commissioner Gujranwala Division Shamail Ahmed Khawaja will be the chief guest. The experts of Iqbaliyat across the country will attend this seminar.
Sialkot DCO Dr. Asif Tufail told that the Sialkot District Administration will also organize the national level All Pakistan Mehfil-e-Mushaaira at Anwar Club Auditorium Sialkot tonight here. The prominent poets and poetesses from across Pakistan will participate to pay homage to Allama Iqbal.
