SIALKOT: There was a low level flood in River Chenab at Head Marala near Sialkot here on Tuesday, as the flow of flood water dropped to 97371 cusecs from over night’s 157046 cusecs in Chenab at Head Marala Barrage on Tuesday.
The maximum flow of flood water was 97371 cusecs upstream and 67248 cusecs downstream in River Chenab at Head Marala-Sialkot here on Tuesday.
According to the Focal Person Sialkot Flood Control Malik Abid Awan (DOC Sialkot), the flood situation was totally under control. He said that the Rivers Tavi and Jammu and seasonal Naullahs Aik, Dek, Palkhu and Bhed, today, remained calm and cool in Sialkot district.
He added that the flood water level reduced to 4083 cusecs from recent 12000 cusecs in swollen Naullah Dek near Kingra-Pasrur here Tuesday.
He DOC Sialkot Malik Abid Awan revealed that the red alerted district administration of Sialkot was round-the-clock monitoring the flood situation here.
He said that flow of flood water was 3347 cusecs in River Jammu Tavi and 2580 cusecs in River Munawar Tavi near Chaprar-Sialkot here today.
The water level was receding there. He said that the overall flood situation was totally under control in Sialkot district now.
