SIALKOT: Former Speaker National Assembly Chaudhary Ameer Hussain has announced to contest the next general elections from his native constituency (NA-111, Bajwat-Sialkot II) on the platform of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He announced this decision after detailed discussion with local party workers, his old political companions, local notables, former UC Nazims and Naib Nazims during their important meeting held at Head Marala-Sialkot here on Sunday.
They welcomed him back to the local politics and also assured him their full political support. During the meeting, Chaudhary Ameer Hussain announced his formal come back in local politics after years-long silence provoked by his defeat as PML-Q candidate in 2008 general elections by PPP stalwart Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan in constituency NA 111 Bajwat, Sialkot here. Since then, he was out from the local politics.
Now, this time Chaudhary Ameer Hussain was in field again under the umbrella of PTI. He also announced to start his regular participation in local activities, with high claims to serve the masses without any political indiscrimination, saying that he was back to Bajwat-Sialkot from Lahore to win the hearts of his voters and supporters there.
He said he was back to local politics as per the political aspiration of the people of his native electoral constituency, saying that the other local elected representatives have badly disappointed the local people.
Chaudhary Ameer Hussain also vowed to give very tough time to local PML-N MNA Ch. Armughan Subhani and PPP stalwart Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan in future politics in this constituency ahead of the next general elections.
