SIALKOT: The Sialkot district administration on Tuesday finally okayed a plan for expansion, widening, re-modeling and re-alignment of the seasonal Naullah Bhed to save the Sialkot city from recurring flood disasters in future.
Sialkot DCO Nadeem Sarwar told this while giving briefing to the local elected representatives during an important meeting held here. He said Rs.100 million would be spent on this project and the construction would be completed before the coming rain and flood season.
He said hurdles would soon be removed to ensure the smooth flow of flood water in Naullah Bhed, besides removing eight small sized bridges over this Naullah for smooth flow of flood water.
He added that early realignment of this Naullah was direly needed to save Sialkot city and local people from flood disasters in future. MNA Ch. Armughan Subhani, MPAs Ch. Mohammad Ikram, Rana Abdul Sattar Khan, Ch. Tariq Akhtar Subhani, Mansha Ulla Butt and the district heads of the nation-building departments also attended the meeting.
