SIALKOT: The Punjab government has provided the national savings certificates (worth of Rs. 7.5 million) as financial compensation to the widow of slain lawyer Rana Khalid Abbas (President Daska Bar Association).
EDO (Finance) Sialkot Shuja Qutab on Monday gave the national savings certificates (worth of Rs.7.5 million) to the grieved family of the slain lawyer during a special ceremony held at the office of Assistant Commissioner Daska here on Monday. AC Daska Rao Suhail Akhtar and senior lawyers were also present on this occasion.
On this occasion, the Assistant Commissioner said that the Punjab government has also promised a government job to slain lawyer Rana Khalid’s widow as well. Earlier, the Punjab government has provided a house (worth of Rs. 5 million) as compensation to the grieved family of another slain lawyer Mohammad Irfan Chohan of Daska, besides, providing Rs.0.2 million to the three other injured persons including two lawyers, in this regard.
In Daska, two Daska based lawyers Rana Khalid Abbas (President Daska Bar Association) and Mohammad Irfan Chohan were gunned down by accused police inspector Shehzad Warraich (the then SHO of Daska City police station) during a clash in front of the main gate of this police station on May 25, 2015. The case of these killings is under trial in Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Gujranwala.
