LARKANA: As many as eight major police stations of Larkana district are being looked after by Assistant Sub Inspectors of Police instead of Inspectors or Sub Inspectors and one ASI has been posted as Line Officer, Police Lines, Larkana.
These police stations include Civil Lines, Allah Abad, Arija, Mahotta, Hatri Ghulam Shah, Ketty Mumtaz, Fatehpur, Airport and Baqapur. Many police stations where senior Inspectors are to be posted as SHOs as per approved PC-1 are also being looked after by junior Sub Inspectors in this home district of Bhutto leaders which shows how important is for this present government to establish good governance in the province of Sindh to provide peace and tranquillity to its voters and supporters and people at large.
The ASIs posted as I/C SHOs despite availability of senior police officers include Asghar Ali Kango, Zakir Hussain Sandano, Abdul Jabbar Memon, Shaman Ali Khoso, Muhammad Ali Khokhar, Muhammad Ali Korai, Ali Dino Jatoi, Abdul Razak Tagar, and Muhammad Ibrahim Jatoi respectively.
ASI Sardar Khan Pathan has been posted as Line Officer, Larkana Police Lines. Police sources said that Pathan was working in Motor Transport section of the police and was also transferred out of Qambar district for negligence in performing government duties. Instead of Inspector one SIP Muhammad Ramzan Bhagat has been posted as Reserve Inspector (RI) and SIP Muhammad Mangrio has been posted as SHO Naundero police station against the post of Inspector which too is against existing rules and violation of recent Supreme Court verdict. A head constable Abdul Razak Panhwar has been posted as Sheet Clerk, instead of a Sub-Inspector or Senior Clerk who is also looking after the charge of traffic sergeant as this post is still vacant, according to sources. This means Larkana district is being run & managed by a head constable as if there are no other senior police officers to be posted on actual posts.
People of Larkana have demanded of the rulers that e-policing has been started but this department still lacks major changes which include posting of proper senior police officers on the basis of merit in view of the recent apex court directions, ignoring notorious Own Pay Scale (OPS).
